Chamber Ensemble

The IMI Chamber Players were founded in St. Louis 30 years ago and have since grown into a community of interculturally-minded artists and educators from around the globe. IMI (standing for the Intercultural Music Initiative) responds to the growing call for diverse classical music programming, presenting concerts with an exciting mix of standard repertoire alongside music by lesser-known composers, particularly of African descent and other racial minorities. Audiences will enjoy their delightfully intimate performances, and hearing directly from top-notch artists about their creative process.

This concert features the IMI Chamber Players' woodwind quintet (flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon and horn). Their first recording is “Dances & Rhapsodies: Works for Wind Quintet by Fred Onovwerosuoke” and they have been featured performers at the National Flute Association Annual Convention and many venues around St. Louis.
